For those who aren’t in-the-know, BP week is coming soon (February 19th - 26th). We celebrate the birthday of the creator of Scouting, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, whose birthday is February 22nd.
This year marks the 99th year of Scouting - the whole thing started with an experimental “jamboree” camp at Brownsea, England. Today more than 28 million young people in 216 countries and territories around the world, of every faith, culture and gender, are Scouts - even girls are now part of the Scouting movement!
May groups participate in community events and other activities in the public during BP Week. What will your group be doing to celebrate this year?
Check the calendar to the left, some groups have started listing their events.
There hasn’t been much in the way of traffic here on the site, mostly because we’ve been busy Scouting instead of working at the computer!
I hope to get some content contribution and ideas from leaders around the Area to make this website a destination for all.
On behalf of all Scouts and Scouters on the North Shore, we wish you and your family all the best for the hollidays and the new year.
